What is your photographic style?
I’ve always considered myself a storyteller and I try my best to capture stories with photographs. Some like to call it wedding photojournalism, others candid photography, but at the end of the day it’s my goal to tell the best story possible. I’m influenced by documentary, fashion and art photography as well as by modern art and everyday life.
What does basic coverage include?
Basic coverage includes eight hours of continuous wedding day coverage, photography by Britta and a second photographer plus online proofing.
What if we want more hours?
Lovely! More hours are available for purchase as part of your collection or on the day of your wedding.
We want to go with the complete wedding collection. What if we opt out of an engagement session?
No problem. In exchange of opting out of the session, you will receive $100 credit towards the purchase of any products.
Are the high resolution files available?
My hope is that you get the absolute most out of your photo session. That’s why I will encourage you to purchase products that last a lifetime, whether that’s a beautiful fine art print for your wall or a gorgeous one-of-a-kind book. That being said, I totally understand the desire to have high resolution files. After all, we live in the digital era and we all have so many ways to express our individuality though images. Because of that, digital files are available as part of the complete wedding package or for $1,000 as part of the á la carte collection. If added as part of your collection at the time of booking, digital images receive a 25 percent discount and cost $750.
When will you start?
Leading up to your wedding day, we will have a few discussions on your timeline. Every couple’s wedding day is different. Some couples prefer more pre-wedding coverage, while others rather have more of the festivities documented. It’s completely up to you.
Can we split the time?
Honestly, the best moments I’ve ever captured at weddings have been during the down times. Life is unpredictable and for me to tell the best story possible I cannot split the time.
How do you handle wedding ceremonies?
I try to be respectful during the ceremony while still trying to capture the best images possible. I strictly adhere to the photography rules of the church or venue and generally do not use flash (unless previously discussed with you) or move about in super visible areas. It is important to me that I do not become a distraction as the ceremony is the whole reason for the day!
How do you dress for weddings?
I always dress in a professional manner – most times wearing black to blend into my surroundings … sorta like a ninja. A photo ninja.
Do you have a second photographer or an assistant?
A second photographer is always included. My second photographers should not be considered assistants as they are professional photographers in their field. It’s a great to have two professional perspectives on your day.
What is your retainer policy?
In order to secure your date, a $750 retainer is required to book. The retainer is non-refundable and non-negotiable.
I don’t see any formal in-front-of-the-church photos on your website. Do you do these?
While it’s the least favorite part of the day for everyone, formal photos are a necessary tradition. So, yes, I absolutely do these photos. But, it’s your day – the amount of formal photos you’d like to do is up to you.
Do you ever photograph less than 8 hours?
I believe that a wedding story cannot be told in less than eight hours. However, occasionally, I am willing to photograph weddings less than 8 hours if it meets ALL of the following criteria: 1. The wedding is on an off day (Sunday-Thursday) 2. The guest list is under 50 people. 3. The wedding is held locally.
Do you travel out of the Fargo-Moorhead area?
Absolutely! Travelling is one of my biggest passions and I love experiencing new cultures and locations (whether that’s New Ulm, Minnesota or Barcelona, Spain). Locally, I travel without a fee two hours outside the Fargo Moorhead area. I also travel regionally for a fee and have special rates for weddings in the Twin Cities and central North Dakota.
