Wedding Love: Poppies

Oops! This month’s wedding love is a little late. With just a few days left in March, I thought I’d better show you my newest wedding love: Poppies.

I love poppies. I mean, I really, really love poppies. You might say it’s an obsession as I have a whole board dedicated to the delicate flower on Pinterest. Spring-like and youthful, they make a perfect pop of color in any bouquet.

2. Flowers by Leigh Okies Designs.

Becca + Matt : The Engagement Session

Ooooh! Just three more days until the wedding of this lovely pair:

Saying I’m a little bit excited for their Saturday wedding would be an understatement. It will be the first officially official wedding of Britta the Photographer – and my first wedding of 2012! PLUS Becca and Matt simply rock. They are both extremely sweet, kind and very much in love. In February, I photographed these love birds at the Plains Art Museum in downtown Fargo.

News, Travel and a Picture

Good morning and happy late March to y’all! Here’s a few happenings here in Britta-land you may find interesting:

LIMITED SESSION BEGINNING MAY 1
Thanks to weddings, nice weather and ice cream, summer is a crazy, wonderful season for this photographer.  So, in order to keep the quality high and my mind fresh, I’ve decided to offer only 1 to 2 portrait sessions per week starting May 1. Sessions are currently booking up for early summer, so please contact me asap if you’d like your choice of dates. For more info on my portraits (and pricing) click here.

WILL TRAVEL TO TAKE PICTURES
Speaking of scheduling, I’m currently booking sessions in the following cities this spring/early summer:

Twin Cities Metro // April 22 or 23
Bismarck – Central ND // April 28
Bismarck – Central ND // June 16
San Jose – San Fransisco CA // June 18-22
Twin Cities Metro // July 13-15

There are limited sessions available so please contact me asap if you’re interested. There is no charge for travel on these dates.

WEDDING PRICES ARE A’CHANGIN’
Aside from creating beautiful images of your wedding day, it’s important for me to provide a simple, enjoyable process from our first meeting to well after your big day. While that has been my priority since the beginning, I’ve found my current pricing hasn’t quite lived up to my simplistic expectations. So, on April 1st I will be launching a new wedding guide that will provide two simple pricing options, an á la carte option and a complete wedding collection. Simplicity at it’s finest!

Even the best photographer loses a bit of creativity and freshness when overworked. Because I want to be super excited and fresh for each and every wedding, I’ve decided that starting in 2013 I will only be taking about 15 weddings per year. Because of this, I’ve had to raise my prices a bit. For all my couples currently booked for 2012-2013, your pricing will remain the same. For couples who’ve received info and want to book, I will honor the old pricing until May 1st.

366 to 30
Now, as promised, here’s a picture. It’s of my kid’s hand and one of many photos from my current series 366 to 30 on tumblr.

Okay friends, I think that’s about it. If you have any questions, please send me an email at info at brittathephotographer dot com or give me a call at 218.303.9066.
