Nico is Two(ish)

I have this theory that kids (and, if I can be honest, we humans of all ages) really only give you 20 minutes of their time before being D-O-N-E with the camera. Sometimes, they need a bit of a warm-up and the 20 minutes comes at the end of a session. And sometimes, they’re ready to rock-n-roll at the beginning.

I don’t blame them, really. After this crazy few years of partial isolation, my patience to be “on” is about the same. There are just so many minutes you can take your eyes off Encanto before you get a little cranky.

This year I introduced The Skinny Session family portrait session which is a shorter duration session for those kiddos who just can’t (don’t -won’t) sit in front of the camera for an hour. This is actually a perfect session for a kiddo’s yearly update, like I did with Nico here.

In years past, I only offered these short sessions in this studio. But, I’ve come to realize that a quick fun session anywhere was the way to go. Afterall, if they’re only going to give me 20 glorious minutes, it might as well be somewhere they are most comfortable.
