Class of 2013: Zach (Round Two)

Well, we’ve come to the end… the end of the 2013 graduate posts. It’s been a wild ride, and I thought there would be no better way to close this week then with some portraits of my very own nephew, Zach. Why? Because Zach is awesome, that’s why.

As you may recall, Zach and I had a super mini session last summer. While passing through Fargo on his way back to Minot last month, we finished up his session in the studio. I’m a fan of all my grads, but especially Zach. This is why:

Class of 2013: Elex

Elex is a patient guy. While all his buddies had scrambled to get their graduate photos done by autumn 2012, Elex knew what look he wanted for his photos. He… wanted… snow.

If you recall, it was well into early 2013 before we even received a good amount of the fluffy stuff. So, patient Elex waited and waited for his snowy opportunity. Finally, on a very, very snowy day in mid-Feb, Elex’s patience paid off. It was time for his grad photos.

Being that it was a crazy, snowy day, we took some portraits in the studio as well. Elex is such an awesome, laid-back, young dude.

Class of 2013: Rachel

It’s not often that I get to photograph graduates after the new year, but late in 2012 I received a message from this gorgeous grads mum hoping to get her daughter in for a studio session in January. It just so happened that I was finally opening my studio around that time and so the session was made and Rachel became one of the first sessions in the new studio. Falling in line with all my grads, Rachel is kind, cute and smart-as-as-a-whip. She’s also pretty comfy in front of the camera which made photographing her an absolute joy.

Class of 2013: Sydni

Seriously, people: the graduates I get to photograph are the best. I’m not kidding. For some reason, I’ve been lucky to photograph the most intelligent, good-looking and kindest young adults. I’m one lucky photog.

The weather for Sydni’s autumn session was a tiny bit chilly, but thankfully her personality and giant smile warmed us up during our downtown adventure.

Portraits with the family? Of course. Torturing younger brother? YES!

Class of 2013: Morgan (Round Two)

Round zwei of beautiful Morgan’s graduate photos! Our first session took place on a GORGEOUS summer evening at Trollwood Park in Fargo. For round 2, Morgan wanted a bit more sophistication which lead is us to the MultiBand building in south Fargo for a more refined feel… with a little sass.

Class of 2013: Kali

In a matter of a month or so, high school seniors everywhere will be stumbling across a big stage to snatch their high school diplomas. I’ve been so lucky to have photographed a handful of these awesome grads – and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the years to come.

I’ve already shared a few Class of 2013 sessions, but I thought I’d take the next week or so and show you the remaining high school seniors I was so lucky to photograph this year. First up, my beautiful cousin Kali. Not only is Kali a high school senior, but she’s also a college freshman. That’s right. Instead of taking her final classes in her hometown of Barnesville, she opted to start a college a little early through the Post Secondary Program and will be finishing up her first year at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead. I’m so proud of her!

I photographed Kali on a gorgeous, early evening last autumn and then again a couple weeks ago on a balmy late winter day.

Class of 2013: Hannah

I knew two things upon meeting Miss Hannah:
1. That I would really like her.
2. That she would be dynamite to photograph.

Yet again my intuition correct. Talented figure skater, smart-as-a-whip, adorable and sweet are just a few words to describe the awesomeness that is Hannah. I adore her calm, laid-back vibe and her inner fierceness, both which translate beautifully in photographs.

Class of 2013: Kacy

Kacy, sweet Kacy… a quiet beauty with a strong face and queen-like poise. It has been so much fun getting to know her over our two sessions together, the first which was this past autumn and the second just a month or so ago in the new studio.

Class of 2013: Tessa

For some reason, not only to I manage to photograph the most adorable, sweet and interesting graduates, but they also tend to be super tough cookies. Case in point: Tessa. On a crazy chilly day in early October, Ms Tessa and I embarked on a two hour photo shoot downtown and in the beautiful parklands by the river. And as I was complaining I couldn’t feel my fingers after 20 minutes, Tessa continued to strike one gorgeous pose after another, never complaining. Not even once.

Tough and beautiful… a winning combination.

Class of 2013: Elizabeth

Well, hello friends! It’s been awhile. I’ve been super busy finishing up on lots of portrait-y goodness for my awesome clients and preparing for lots of exciting changes for 2013. But, I couldn’t leave y’all without a few blog posts… and boy-oh-boy do I have lots of things to post. Therefore, this week will be full of a variety of blog posts including a very quick sale on 12.12.12 :)
Today, a few portraits of sweet-n-sassy Elizabeth. Like most of my graduate sessions, we split Elizabeth’s session in two. The first session took place on her grandmother’s farm and the second at the gorgeous Plains Art Museum.

Class of 2013: Zach!

This is Zach. He’s pretty awesome, and I’m not just saying that because I’m his aunt. This kid is ridiculously hilarious, super sweet and, like most my family, incredibly dorky in a very cool way. We had short little session this summer while he was in Fargo and I can’t wait to finish up his session on his home turf of Minot later this year (I’ve been told he’ll be bringing certain hard-shelled friends along for his second shoot).

Class of 2013: Morgan (Round One)

Totally confident and the ultimate sweetheart, Morgan is one awesome young woman. During our golden hour shoot this summer, she brought tons of positive energy, fun ideas and was willing to do anything for a great shot (even if that meant climbing into the mysterious mass of ivy).

This is just round one of her graduate package – round two is slated for later this month. I can hardly wait :)
