Erin + Adam: The Wedding

Cool and free spirited Erin and Adam were rarin' to celebrate when I arrived at Toad Mountain Ranch, the location of their beautiful August wedding. For this couple, tradition was thrown straight out the window. Not only did they see each other the morning of their wedding day, but they celebrated early by playing yard games, drinking cocktails and enjoying the company of their closest friends and family, all before their wedding attire saw the light of day.

Toad Mountain Ranch, a sprawling estate near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, was Erin's childhood get-a-way. It's a magical place; one step on this gorgeous property and you can see why this couple decided to start their marriage here. After a bit of socializing, Erin and Adam headed to the cabins near the lake (where their wedding was to take place) and put on their wedding garb.Afterwards, a perfect first look by the lake...

...followed by a few portraits and some downtime on Toad Mountain.

Back to the lake for their happy ceremony. The sun was shining, the people were smiling, all was perfect.

Then, just as they were ready to put on the rings, mother nature decided to give this couple a little, rainy surprise.Really, a little rain couldn't have happened to a better couple. Erin and Adam were so laid back and embraced the furious shower (and now have quite the story!). By the time we headed to the ranch, where the celebration would take place, the big scary clouds were making their way out of the area.

The rest of the evening this duo celebrated in the courtyard of the ranch's horse barn. What a great place for an event!

As the sun set on Toad Mountain Ranch, there wasn't a cloud in sight. Erin and Adam, along with their guests, were ready to party the night away - dancing and eating ice cream. Oh, and it case you don't know... Erin and Adam are  D Mills and the Thrills #1 fans. Luckily, Diane and her crew were more than happy to play for this lively crowd.
