Hello, I’m Britta. Britta the Photographer. As the title suggests, I take photographs for a living. But, I like to think I do a lot more than that. I consider myself more of a storyteller – a storyteller who uses a camera to capture the world one beautiful moment at a time.
Way back when I studied Mass Communications at Minnesota State University Moorhead, I wanted to be a journalist. A photojournalist in fact. So for two years after graduation I worked as photographer for The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead. In tandem, I began photographing weddings for a local studio, and it wasn’t long before I knew that was what I was supposed to do.
Over the last eight years, I’ve been fortunate to have captured hundreds of beautiful stories, from the first minute of a child’s life to the moment a bride said “I do.” I’ve had a bit of recognition too, garnering over 40 contest wins from the Wedding Photojournalist Association.
Of course, I’m not always Britta the photographer. When I’m not taking your photos, I hold a few other titles – wife, mom, designer, Mac fan, public radio nerd, Pinterest addict, and music lover. I have a little bit of a hair obsession, changin my ‘do quarterly. I’m also a tiny bit coffee obsessed (so, we should really grab a cup sometime).
