Usually when we visit a city, we like to spend a lot of time trying to figure it out. Where are the best places to eat? Where is the cultural center? Where can we grab a good beer? Unfortunately, this time around our time was limited and the weather was uncooperative. So, instead of spending a few days exploring downtown Saint Louis, we squeezed all our tourism into a few short hours. Luckily, we plan to visit the city again… so our quest to find it’s heart is not yet over!
At quick glance, downtown Saint Louis seemed very clean and orderly. I kept on trying to find some street art, but there was no art to be found (although, I expect taking a better look at other parts of the city would yield some street art results). Then again, we basically just toured a three block radius :)
Part of our brief tour included a visit to this fountain at Keiner Plaza which has been recently been renamed Edie’s Fountain.

No worries. Kathy held on tight and it was a long way to fall in.
Of course, no trip to Saint Louis is complete without visiting the Arch. One really doesn’t know how impressive and beautiful the Arch is unless they see it real life. Oh, and it’s big… I mean, really, really, really huge. As lover of modern design and simplicity, I was very excited to see this giant landmark. I was very, very impressed.

No trip to a historic landmark is complete without a few photos of tourists in their natural habitat.

Of course, we were tourists too.
