A couple weeks ago, my husband, daughter and I headed to Columbia, Illinois (a suburb of Saint Louis, MO) to visit my husband’s sister Kathy and her three beautiful daughters. Every spring since our wedding in 2006, Kris and I have made it a priority to take a vacation out of the area. Our vacations have been small (last year we went to Duluth) and our vacations have been big (in 2007 we visited northern Europe)… but no matter the size or the location they have always been a lot of fun and Columbia was no exception.
It was so awesome to get to know Kathy and her girls a bit better. Since they live so far away, most of our communication is over Facebook and the occasional visit. If there is one thing that was confirmed during this visit, there must be some sort of goofy gene in Kris’ family. Not that I’m complaining.

Apparently, Kathy’s girls are climbers (much to Kathy’s dismay).
Madison, Kathy’s youngest, quickly became Edie’s buddy. Edie hasn’t stopped talking about her!
